BUS RIDE

I’m in a bus with its windows only half open and the weather is extremely hot

The worst part is I’m in a long sleeve shirt; I literally feel like I’m suffocating

The traffic is much; I have no hope of getting to my destination in the next two hours

Lifted my head now and there’s the woman hawking cold drinks in the traffic

She’s staring at me and I stare right back, I should buy one but I’m on a strict budget

I’d hate to walk part of my journey back home

The woman eventually walks away and I sigh internally wondering how she copes in the direct sunlight

My earpiece has been stuck in my ear; I had no idea what was playing until Kante by Davido and Fave comes on, the only part of the song I love is Fave’s part

“…cos I’m feeling intellectual…” she’s currently my favorite female artiste; from baby riddim to Mr Man to in Love and now Kante, she keeps living up to expectations.

Ah, traffic has moved again and this time I heave an outward sigh of relief

I’m so tired and extremely stressed

I need special treatment but in the meantime I hope I survive this hellish bus
